Hey Salty readers! So I’m such a slacker with my training log. First I got sick (again!) and then had a crazy work weekend this past weekend. My 100 mile training was only slightly affected. I’m still not where I want to be for weekly mileage, but I’m hoping my motivation to get up and run 15 miles before working at 9 am will come back when it’s not 10 degrees out in the morning.
Last week was OK, but I’m looking forward to getting some real miles in this week and my first race of the year is in less than two weeks!
Monday: 7 miles/60 min of yoga. Still kinda sick, but it was sunny and warm out in the morning! I went a different route, got chased by a dog that looked like Lassie and had to climb a mile-long hill to get back home. New favorite route.
Tuesday: 5 miles. I had no motivation to run before work, so I took running clothes with me and got a very fast 5 miles in on my lunch hour. I even had time to change and eat before going back to work.
Wednesday: Unplanned rest day. Still wasn’t feeling great.
Thursday: 16 miles roads. I had Valentine’s Day off so I spent the morning with my other true love: running! This served as my only long road run before my first race of the year.
Friday: Rest/60 min of yoga.
Saturday: 12 miles. I ran to work, added on a few since I was early, then ran the 5 miles back home. On the way home, it started snowing so hard. I had no option but to take some back roads and pick up the speed to get back home.
Sunday: 5 miles. Slow and easy recovery run before another day at work.
Total: 45 miles.
