Coriander’s Training Log: 12.30.12

I hate to say this, but this week was pretty lame as far as mileage. Last week, I caught the flu that’s been going around and only ran once. I was back at work after three days out, but I didn’t eat again until Sunday and didn’t want to run without eating anything but saltines and Gatorade.

So unfortunately, I saw my goal of running 2,012 miles this year go out the window. Being sick was just another sign I was pushing myself too hard and needed to rest. And this week, I was just way too busy to catch up.

Monday: 6 miles of roads before heading to the boyfriend’s family Christmas.

Tuesday: 5 miles. I usually run 10 miles on Christmas, but had to cut it short this year. I figured sleeping in was more fun.

Wednesday: Rest. Impending snowstorm and maintenance issues in my apartment kept me inside.

Thursday: 5 miles. It snowed enough on Wednesday for me to get to leave work early. The roads were cleared by Thursday morning, but the sidewalks were full of snow and it was not so fun.

Friday: 60 minute yoga class. I finally was off early enough in the afternoon to attend one of my favorite yoga classes! Best way to end the work day.

Saturday: 8 miles. I went to an annual group run to see some of the waterfalls in the CVNP. Because of work, I didn’t run the whole route, but it was fun to see most of my trail friends.

Sunday: 45 minutes of yoga.

Total: 24 miles. Here’s to 2,013 in 2013!
