Coriander’s training log – 11.4.12

What another crazy week! My new store opened Tuesday and I’ve finally been feeling like I have a job where I can mix my love of running and yoga and fitness with business and retail. Now that we’re open, I’m trying to get back onto a normal schedule.

Sunday – 6 miles. I only had enough time to get in my usual pre-work loop. Unfortunately, I was in the pouring rain and I stood at an intersection right before I was done wondering what the hell I was doing in the rain. In shorts.

Monday – rest. I worked a split shift with the intention of a quick run in between, but instead opted for a much-needed nap.

Tuesday – 4 miles. Monday night/Tuesday morning was when Cleveland felt the effects of Hurricane Sandy. I couldn’t let myself be afraid of the storm and I just did a quick out and back.

Wednesday – 6 miles. I went out on the trails by my house. It was basically one big puddle with lots of downed trees. Lots of fun though!

Thursday – 6 miles. Same old route. It was still raining.

Friday – rest/20 minute yoga flow to ย wake up. Another long day at work.

Saturday – one hour yoga class before work. Yoga is what’s helping my knee/IT band injury more than anything. I really need to do more of it.

Sunday – 11 miles. Today was my first longer run since my Oil Creek DNF. I ran roads so I could be done in time to freeze my butt off at the Browns game!

Total – 33 miles.

Highlight of the week? Today! It was so nice to run somewhat long again and spend the day with my boyfriend at the Browns game.

The view from the Dawg Pound. Yes, the Browns lost. Again.

Trail and 100 mile ultra runner who still loves a good road marathon every now and then. Lifetime Northeast Ohio resident that dreams of the mountains out west, but loves CLE too much. Sometimes a vegan, sometimes does yoga, always loves a good craft beer and post race donuts.
