Comment of the Week 5.11.13

Holy wow, what a great week!  We’ve been focusing on quality over quantity here lately, and it’s really showing in your fantastic comments.  It’s getting harder and harder each week to choose a winner of that highest honor…

Who wins the badge this week?

This week, you may notice that we’ve split the roundup into its own post, the way we did it way back when.  Why’s that?

Well, I just wanted our Comment of the Week winner to be the star of this show, that’s all! If you want to check out this week’s roundup, here it is.

And now, the Salty reader with this week’s most excellent comment was…

A family of runners! Here’s Janet with her Mr. and their son after a half marathon last August!

Janet S. from Wyoming!

We were thrilled to read Janet’s nifty comment on Cilantro’s post: Vegetarian Runner: Embracing the Label.  We loved that she admitted to slacking in her nutritional habits because she’s not crazy about cooking– and if you’re like me, you can relate!  Still, she says Cilantro’s post inspired her to re-focus and get back on track!

When notified of receiving this prestigious honor, here’s what Janet had to say:

I’m so excited to have the comment of the week! Cilantro’s post really struck a chord with me, and it was nice to know that it’s hard for her at times too.

I’ve been running for about 17 years, and have done a zillion 5 and 10Ks, 10 half marathons and 2 marathons. I live in Wyoming, so a lot of my winter training is on the treadmill, but when spring hits, I hit the pavement! Right now I’m focusing on improving my times in the half. The coolest running-related experience I’ve had is to be featured in a Runner’s World article a year ago. Who ever thought I’d spend 8 hrs. being photographed by a professional!?!

Thanks for choosing my comment!

You can follow Janet on Twitter at @janetlovestorun or on Tumblr at Run Jan Run.  Here’s hoping we get some updates this summer about her newfound dedication to low-maintenance vegetarianism!

Way to go, Janet!  And thank you!

And thanks to all our readers who commented this week–we write this stuff for you, and we always love hearing what you have to say about it.  Keep those awesome comments coming, and maybe next week you could be our lucky winner!
