Cayenne’s Training Log 11.12.17

It was another busy week at work!

Monday: Run and X Train

1 hour elliptical

arms, abs

6 miles (7:56)

The pace on this run felt harder because it was a hilly lake lap.  I did a double (x train plus run) to attempt to make up for an extra day off last week.  I also had some time for once.

Tuesday: Speed

2 mile warm up, 1 X 800 (2:56), 1 X 400 (1:22), 4 X 200 (38, 38, 38, 39), 1 X 400 (1:24), 1 X 800 (2:57), 2 mile cool down

I did this workout with the bf and tried not to get too ridiculously far behind.  I felt extremely winded, even though the intervals were run at about the same pace as usual.

Wednesday: Run

8.5 miles (8:29)

Nice, easy run.

push ups, planks

Thursday: Run

5.5 miles (8:30)

This run started on a trail (11 minute first mile) but the rest was on normal terrain.  I efforted up a few hills instead of doing a tempo run.

Friday: Run

6 miles (8:22)

I ran on a track and some grass.  I slowed dramatically on the grass.

arms, abs, legs

Saturday: Run

6 miles (8ish pace)

I’m not sure what the overall pace really was.  I attempted a quicker run but it was so cold and windy-I did what I could.  I was running in the 7:40’s until my watch freaked out and had a 10:06 last mile, even though it was the same pace.

push ups, planks

Sunday: Off

I was exhausted and had a migraine…I moved my long run to the next day.  My mileage looks scarce this week, but two long runs within next week’s cycle will make up for it.

Total miles: 38

This was a hum drum week.  I have still lots of work/travel/stress but I am still running, which is always a good thing.

I am a dedicated runner and classical musician. I am currently chasing a sub-3 hour marathon (3:00:38 PR). I often feel like the underdog going up against "serious" runners-I took up running after college, I do not have a typical "runner's body type", and I am mostly self-coached. I travel a lot to perform with different orchestras and run when I can, where I can. I love to (over) eat and that is my number one motivation for running! Follow me as I chase my goals!

    1. For real-I felt stupid for being so stressed out about performing the music to Harry Potter, but is definitely the most difficult movie score I have played!
