Fortunately last week’s sore left leg (from pulling my shoe off carelessly) cleared up…just in time for another stupid injury at the end of this week! On Saturday, I was excited to run in a light rain but did not consider the implications of split shorts – OMG the chafing! I won’t make that mistake again! Otherwise this was a pretty good week of running.
Monday: 4 miles/36:05. Treadmill. Left leg aching nearly down to zero. Yay!
Tuesday: 8 miles/1:09:43, then 11 minute walk at 12% incline. Treadmill, obviously.
Wednesday: 8 miles/1:03. Treadmill. Ran 25 minutes of progressive tempo with a bathroom break after 15 minutes. Averaged 6:39 pace. According to my most recent 5k, I should be doing my tempos quite a bit faster, but this feels hard enough and I’d rather not overextend myself right now.
Thursday: 3 miles/27:06 in the morning, 5 miles/43:00 in the evening outside with 4x strides. Felt terrible. First double run in a very long time!
Friday: 5 miles/43:20 with 4x strides.
Saturday: 10.25 miles/1:27. Ouchhhhh the chafing. Cut this run short. Felt terrible in general.
Sunday: 7 miles/1:01. Felt terrible again. Wore good shorts, but irritated yesterday’s wounds after about 45 minutes.
Total: 50.25 miles
