Bergamot’s Training Log – 2.11.17

Oh, February. I do love this month, and I think it’s because my birthday kicks the whole thing off. When I think of February, I think of warm colors like red and pink, thanks to Valentine’s Day, which I also love because, hello, it’s February, and I love this month and chocolate! Also, hello to my intense usage of commas and run-on sentences. Anyway, back to February. Later after VDay, I will be celebrating the anniversary of my first date with my bf. Have you choked on the utter cheesiness of my love for this month?! There’s simply a lot of celebrating to be done. That is all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Despite all the love and cake, the weather in Spain could be a little more cooperative. Does that pic to the left give you warm vibes? I have to hand it to her though, Spain’s weather is marvelous the rest of the year. But it has been simply shitty so many days the past couple weeks- something I am not used to! Yesterday I ran 10 miles through wind, rain, and sea spray, a new definition to Salty Running. I had my highest mileage week yet at 41 miles, and I’m officially a bottomless pit.

Week of 2.5-2.11

Sunday- 12 miles at 10:12 avg pace. This felt so good, I wanted to weep at it glory.

Monday- 5 easy miles at 10:40

Tuesday- 7 miles total. 3x 1-mile repeats at 7:45, 7:47, 7:44.

Wednesday- REST ๐Ÿ˜€

Thursday- 6 miles with 3 at tempo pace: 8:17, 8:06, 8:00. I have to say that I was really surprised with my speed work this week.

Friday- easy 5

Saturday- easy 6 at 10:14 pace

Total: 41 miles

I'm a student of law and life. A Jill of all trades, master of none. But I'm hoping to master something, sometime. ;) Preferably a sub-23 5k and a sub-4 marathon!

  1. Big week of running and you nailed it! Nice work lady! Funny how everyone is so hit or miss with February…It’s one of those months I just wait for it to end for some reason! Though I have a few good things to look forward to this year during the month which helps! Maybe if I were in Spain with you eating chocolate I would like this month better ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yes, I wish we didn’t have an ocean between us! <3 I do feel the need to clarify that I've always loved VDay because I use it as an excuse to bake goodies such as champagne cupcakes and hand them out like Cupid! It really has nothing to do with romance and more to do with acts of kindness. :)

  2. Awesome work Bergie! This is one of those weeks you’ll look back on in a few and think, “Remember when I ran my most mileage ever and the weather was balls the whole time?” And then you’ll go out and keep nailing it!
