Buenos dias from a lovely Malaga cafe! It’s 53 degrees here this morning, which is cold to the Spaniards, and now to me too. 😀 But I’m having an iced coffee anyway. Last week was my second official week of half training. My speed and strength training this week felt much more smooth and strong! Here’s what’s up.
1.15 Sunday- 8 miles at 9:43
1.16 Monday- 4 easy miles at 10:30
1.17 Tuesday- 5 miles total. 1 mile warmup. 6x800m at 4:08, 4:07, 4:06, 4:06, 4:02, 3:56. I was super proud of these splits! 1 mile cool down. This was a night run. An evening well spent!
1.18 Wednesday- My beloved rest day.
1.19 Thursday- 4 miles total. I did hill cut-downs on my local castle mountainside. I did a total of 2.5 on the hills. The workout consisted of 4×90 seconds at a relaxed pace, 4×60 seconds strong, 4×30 seconds stronger, and I was supposed to end with a measly 4×15 seconds all-out, but I didn’t have time. I had to meet the gas man at my apartment! I made sure my last two 30 sec. repeats were super strong though. Then I ran back to my apt! This is proof you can get in an awesome workout in only 40 minutes!
1.20 Friday- 6 miles at exactly 1 hour, 9:59 pace. So satisfying lol.
1.21 Saturday- 5 miles.
Total: 32 miles.
I beat last weeks’ mileage by a just a bit and started my week with a ten-miler yesterday! Oh and I FINALLY registered for the race I’m training for. Helpful, huh? 😉 Malaga Half, here I come! It’s a date, baby! I feel like I’m back in my groove, and healthier than ever. #BLESSED
Enjoy your week! <3
