This was my last week before official mile training. Maybe I’ll be eating my words, but at first glance of the training plan, I feel like I may be running harder on my own. But, we’ll see!
Been also trying to get back into my pelvic floor routine (or some semblance of it) to keep things on the up and up. (Photo above as a reminder not forget the core work.)

5 miles, 6×600 at 5K, 7:57 average
This was my last speed work before entering mile training speed work, which seems to be mostly 200s and 300s. I know they’ll be hard but I like my various track workouts, so it’ll be a lot of “trust the process” mantras.
The workout called for 8×600 but my hamstring felt tweaked all week so I decided to not overdo it. Too much. I was targeting 2:20 – 2:22 and came under every time, which was confidence-boosting.

Saturday, July 28
10 miles, 2 at tempo, 8:04 average
I was debating doing tempo miles. The past few long runs I’ve done with tempo miles in them have been just south of 7:30. But I did some quick math and really my tempo should be about 6:50 – 6:55. Hell of a lot harder. So I decided to stick two tempo miles at that quicker pace in the middle of the 10. Very glad I did. Felt harder on my legs than my breathing, which I think is a good sign? (6:52, 6:55)
