This week has not been a normal one for me work-wise, food-wise, and workout-wise! I had a continuing education class up in Chicago over the weekend. I switched my day off at work and ran on Thursday morning before leaving for Chicago. It seems like in the last week, I have gone from looking a little chubby to holy-cow-I-can-no-longer-button-my-pants as far as this pregnancy thing goes. I have been using the belly bands and the old hair-tie around the button trick. Baby has been fluttering around in my belly, so that has been fun. I haven’t felt any super strong kicks yet, but it is neat to feel her moving around! So here is my not-so-much-running running log for the week!
7/30 – I spent my day at work, and relaxed in the evening. We ate leftovers from our cookout on Sunday. Hello heartburn from delicious buffalo chicken dip. Worth it. I should invest in Tums stock.
7/31 – I went on a walk after work while my hubby was playing soccer. I walked 2.35 miles, part of it with some drizzly rain. I don’t mind the rain, it felt pretty nice, actually! The temperature was fairly comfortable, too. Overall, a pleasant walk. Gotta get used to this walking thing since I am going to be doing more of it as time goes on. Also, I got a new body pillow. I think I like it … my hips seem to be responding well.
8/1 – Today is typically my day off, but I spent it working. Just trying to not burn through all of my PTO hours before I really need them! It was a fairly busy day, but I managed to be productive and get my paperwork done before leaving for the evening! Halleluiah!
8/2 – I ran with my friend, Danielle, this morning. We ran 4 miles at 11:15 min/mi with walk breaks. No keys were dropped at this time, so we did not have to do any special searches! I skipped my strength session today (I’m bad, I know), in order to get some things done before leaving for my continuing education class. After our drive, my co-workers and I went to the Cubs game that evening. Although I am not a Cubs fan, I did enjoy going to Wrigley Field for the first time! We left a little early to get to our hotel for the course, but the Cubs ended up losing. It was a very pleasant evening, though!
8/3 – Spent all day in class, so my exercise was getting up and down from mat tables. I found out one of the perks of pregnancy this evening at dinner. I made a switch on my food order. Someone mentioned to the man taking our order that I was pregnant, and it turns out he was a new dad himself. He gave me a free dessert because “pregnant women have a hard job!” It was a very nice gesture and a delicious one, as well :)
8/4 – I woke up before class this morning and did a run/walk on the treadmill. It had a “track lap” feature, so I used this to do my workout. I walked one lap and then would run 2 laps. I ended up running 1.5 miles and walking 1 mile for 2.5 miles total. I am not a big fan of treadmills, especially since I forgot my headphones. It turned out alright, though.
8/5 – Spent the morning up until early afternoon in class. We left for home afterward. The trip turned out to be longer than we thought it would because of some glorious Chicago traffic! I was glad to be home later, and totally exhausted!
So, again, not my normal week. I am looking forward to getting back into my routine a little this upcoming week. It will be rough getting through the next few days of work since I did not have a weekend to recover (I do not know how people work every single day of the week … lots of respect!). I am looking forward to my upcoming day off mid-week!
