It is always a little tough to get back in the swing of things after a week away! Routines are a little off, my intestines take some time to adjust back to normal eating habits. It was rough coming back to the crazy Indiana humidity after such nice weather in upstate New York!
6/18 – Feeling a little tired after work, but wanted to do something since I was stuck inside all day. I went for a 25 minute walk in the evening before sunset. It wasn’t quite as hot then, but the humidity was still pretty heavy in the air!
6/19 – Mr. Barberry and I went on a bike ride after dinner. It had rained earlier in the day, so not quite as hot as it was yesterday. Still a little humid, but it looks like we may be in for a temperature break coming up later this week. And rain … looks like a lot of rain is coming! We rode 8.35 miles at a nice comfortable pace through our town on the trails.
6/20 – Ran in the early morning before going to my gastroenterologist appointment. Ran 3.07 miles at 10:26 min/mi pace. This was my first run since last Thursday, so I took two 1 minute walk breaks during the run. I did a lot of walking in downtown Indy after this, so I definitely got my steps in today :)
6/21 – Rest day! Nothing too crazy today!
6/22 – Morning run before work. The temperature was not too bad, you could feel some of that humidity starting to creep in. An easy 3 miles at 10:30 min/mi pace. I did 2 one minute walk breaks during the run. The first mile was rough! I also took some time to walk around for 10 minutes at work. Again, the temperature was still pretty pleasant, even in the early afternoon. It was a nice change to get away from the office!
6/23 – Temperatures in the 60’s during the summer? Hard to beat right now! I felt pretty good during this run, especially between miles 2 and 3. I had 2 one minute walk breaks during my 5 mile run. I ran 5 miles at a 10:13 min/mile pace. My husband joined me for a mile or so during the end of the run, which was nice. We also went to see the Incredibles 2 today, so between this and American Ninja Warrior, maybe I should stay inspired to keep up the strength training :)
6/24 – I did a 30 minute strength training video (found on YouTube). It was a circuit type workout with an upper body exercise, lower body exercise, and a combo strength/cardio exercise. There were quite a few lunges and squats. I don’t know what hurts more … my quadriceps or my mind after watching the Westworld Season 2 finale. Yikes!
