Barberry Training Log 11/12 – 11/25

I’m still here … and still pregnant! Very pregnant! I am approaching week 38 and baby girl is staying in place for now. I am hoping she will give me a few more days, I am trying to get some Christmas shopping done :) Her nursery is pretty well set, hospital bags are packed, I’ve washed more clothes and stuffed animals, and sterilized so many bottles and pacifiers. I am exhausted … constantly. Baby is dropping and putting more pressure on my bladder, so I am waking up to go to the bathroom every 2 or so hours. This is not helping the exhaustion! It has gotten really hard to put on my shoes now. The most annoying thing would have to be the carpal tunnel like symptoms I have gotten in my left arm. My fingertips on my left hand are constantly numb! I’ve been assured this will go away. All in all, I cannot complain too much, these are really just annoyances more than anything. I’m still trying to keep up with my walks and a little bit of strengthening, so here is what I have been up to the last 2 weeks.

11/12 – Nothing!

11/13 – 2.5 mile walk on the treadmill, catching up on some shows.

11/14 – 3 miles of walking around the indoor track at the Rec Center. I also did a little bit of strength training with some light weights. I cannot lunge as low due to the size of my belly, but I still tried. I haven’t been as faithful to the strength training lately. It is just easier to get my shoes on and walk! Even walking is getting a little harder! I also got a prenatal massage today. Oh goodness … I needed that. Badly.

11/15 – No workouts today. We had a staff meeting today, and I swear they were trying to kill me with the chairs. They were super uncomfortable and I spent most of the meeting standing!

11/16 – Early 2 mile walk on our home treadmill before work. Baby appointment today! She is still growing and hanging out in there. I was told I am about a centimeter dilated. I’ve also been told that I could be a centimeter dilated for a long time!

11/17 – I did a 3.5 mile walk outside today. I also sterilized pacifiers, so there’s that :)

11/18 – My workout today was strapping in a car seat very, very tightly into my vehicle for a car seat inspection. My upper body was not prepared. My husband was at a diaper party, so we got so many diapers! I’m sure they are still not enough from what I’ve heard.

11/19 – Nothing after work!

11/20 – I walked on the treadmill after work. I did 2.5 miles, watching the Notre Dame and Duquesne men’s basketball game. I have a cousin who plays for Duquesne, so I was happy to have the ACC network on our streaming TV! They lost, but put up a good fight for quite awhile.

11/21 – I had another OB appointment today, nothing new to report there. Baby is still in! I went for a walk at a trail near the OB office and this was a nice change of pace. I did 2.25 miles around the trails. It was chilly, but it was a pretty and sunny day!

11/22 – Happy Thanksgiving! We started our day with a turkey trot, the Gobble Gallop 5K. My husband ran and I walked. He finished in time to find me and finish my walk with me. I am still envious of everybody running!!! I did see quite a few people I knew though, and that made the walk go faster.

11/23 – I decided to sleep in today instead of walking before work. It was a busy day at work, my schedule is full. Sometimes patients forget about you the day after a holiday  … not today!

11/24 – Went for a 3.4 mile walk through the neighborhood. It’s getting harder to get through these walks without a potty break! Baby is way down in my pelvis. We got ourselves a Christmas tree and started doing some of our Christmas decorating.

11/25 – Finished up our indoor holiday decorating! We had my in-laws over to my house for a Thanksgiving weekend meal. My husband was kind enough to have it catered so we did not have to cook!

There is no telling what the next two weeks will bring! We are getting closer to the finish line here. I hope you all have a wonderful few weeks!
