Plan for the week: Recovery and start to build mileage. Goal was at least 30 miles this week as I fully recovered
from being sick. No workouts planned this week.
Saturday 10/24: Rest day. Soggy, moldy pumpkin patch and the library book sale. A quintessential Oregon Fall day.
Sunday 10/25: Met a new friend for a very nice conversationally paced trail run in the POURING RAIN. Still not feeling 100%, but much better than the Sunday previous. Run: 9.25 miles (trail)
Monday 10/26: Regular run. Run: 6 miles
Tuesday 10/27: Short-ish run, but feeling 85% normal. Run: 5.5 miles
Wednesday 10/28: Regular Run. Run: 5 miles
Thursday 10/29: Finally feeling totally normal! Run: 7 miles.
Friday 10/30: PTO! Much needed! I spent the day with my mom in pre-birthday celebratory activities (her birthday is on Halloween!), and then had friends over to watch Hocus Pocus, possibly the most ridiculous halloween movie ever.
Total Mileage: 32.75 miles
Summary: I met my mileage goal and finished the week feeling good and healthy. I don’t have any races planned until March (Chuckanut 50k), so at this point, I just want to get my mileage up, start to incorporate workouts and long runs again and stay healthy! The “holiday season” is going to be crazy with lots of travel for work and for fun, so I am really glad I don’t have any races on the calendar. As I’ve stated before I am a routine-oriented person to a fault and it’s super stressful to have a ton of obligations that take me out of that routine, especially when I know I have a race looming on the horizon. So, instead of stressing about it, I am going to try to just enjoy the next two months and train when I can. I will start 50k training in earnest in the new year.
