Another week in this weird part of the year where my goal races are completed but I’m not quite ready for a break yet. I always enjoy some good easy miles, but not as much this time of year when it’s dark and cold. Still, I managed to put together a decent week and a much better tempo run than last week.
Monday & Tuesday: off. Both 10+ hour workdays.
Wednesday: 5.6 miles @ 7:26 overall average with 20 minutes tempo averaging 6:25 pace. Felt great. Only stopped the treadmill because JB woke from his nap.
Thursday: 5.3 miles @ 8:33 pace. Ran 30+ minutes at 3-4% incline. Felt good again.
Friday: 6.6 miles @ 8:42 pace. JB slept through the night! An hour of yoga in the evening. Amazing the energy a full night of sleep gives me.
Saturday: Planned run with the MRTT group was canceled due to a crazy ice storm. Attended the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships and went shopping with a good friend in the afternoon.
Sunday: 8.6 miles @ 8:23 pace on hilly trails with 4x strides. Felt great. Would have liked to have run more, but it was starting to get dark.
