Mom to three little ones: a fiery five year old son; a feisty three year old daughter; and the cutest red headed one year old little girl ever. Lawyer on extended "holiday." Competitive runner. Salty Running boss.

My first baby, around 10 weeks old.

It was a big week in my household: my oldest’s birthday week. He turned 5, yes FIVE, on Thursday. It really feels like I just had him. It is really crazy that we have such a big kid in the house!

That meant I was super busy trying to do all the usual weekly stuff, plus ensure is birthday was super special. I also was organizing a little bowling outing with his friends from school for Saturday. We’ve never had a proper kids birthday party, so I was pretty nervous about doing things right. Afterwards, I was so pooped! Who knew bowling with nine 3-5 year olds would be exhausting? DUH! Ha! But it was so great to see my little buddy having so much fun with his friends who were all so excited. It was adorable!

Runningwise, I felt a bit beat up. Doing more research about my core and I am pretty sure there is something seriously wrong with my abs. No matter how much core work I don’t feel like I work them. Plus,it’s almost a year since I had my baby and my abs still stick out in a not normal way. In fact, the more core work I do and the worse I feel! I don’t expect my abs to ever look “perfect” after having three kids, but this just isn’t right. I need to get a professional opinion and figure out what’s wrong, but after so many doctor’s visits that have led to dead ends, I’m wary. I am going to do my homework and make a plan before heading into to see just any doctor. I want to make sure I go to the right one.

Lastly, I had the pleasure of meeting Ginkgo for a run today! We have never met in person, so this was super exciting for me. I think I talked the entire time (sorry, Ginkgo!), but I was just so excited I couldn’t help myself. There’s just something so awesome about running with the Salties!

My first baby at 5. It really does go way too fast!

Mon: Off. Middle daughter was sick, so we all stayed home for the day and relaxed.

Tue: 8 progressive on the treadmill averaging 7:25.

Wed: 8 easy on the treadmill averaging 8:27.

Thu: 6 on son’s birthday in the basement while he napped. Averaged 8:10.

Fri: 8 on the Y treadmill. Attempted a faster run, but it didn’t go so well. The effort was off. I felt like I was running 30 seconds/mile faster than I was. Managed 7:48 average.

Sat: Off.

Sun: 13, with the middle miles with Ginkgo. COLD!

Total: 43
