This week I realized something: as much as I love racing, I’m pretty lukewarm when it comes to exercising for the sake of exercising. Which is to say, when I’ve got races on the schedule it’s far far easier for me to stay motivated and fit the workouts in than when I don’t. And since I really can’t do any sort of (enjoyable) racing right now?
Yeah. I kind of lost my mojo this week. Which isn’t to say that I was a complete bum: I did get the nursery painted this week. With all of the climbing off and on chairs to reach the top of the walls, it sort of felt like a workout.
There was also some travel this week as we flew out to New Jersey to visit the in-laws. I’ve never been all that great about getting workouts in when we’re there, and this time? I didn’t even make an effort. No workout clothes or shoes were packed. I was basically planning on just being a slug for the week, telling myself that it was going to be too hot to do anything anyway while we were out there (it wasn’t).
