I'm an environmental consultant 9-5 and wannabe local elite runner every other hour of the day. Life is never boring and I trend toward the more outrageous side of life in and outside of running. Who says you can't be fast and ridiculous at the same time?

These weeks of lazy Pepper have got to stop kids! I can’t lie, cycling just doesn’t do it for me like running and it is a TON harder to get motivated to train on my bike. Good news is I said screw this no running stuff this week. Funds aren’t around to get a second opinion on the foot and it has been slowly starting to feel better. I had a fun weekend last week with my boyfriend and we spent the night out dancing after our friends wedding, me in fancy shoes and no boot that night while sleeping and I could walk in the morning. Yay! So after a week of slackerdom the boyfriend and I decided a 20 minute test jog couldn’t hurt. And knock on wood it doesn’t seem to have. So I am tentatively going to start some light jogs every other day and see how things progress. In the meantime I managed my first CX podium spot. 2nd place! Out of 6 ;) In the beginner race. But a major triumph. Despite next to no training the past few weeks I improved my skills a bit, the course played to my strengths (meaning not too much technical stuff, no mud, and lots of rideable course), and I raced my ass off. After the last race when I was a big pansy I really went for it today, even though the race went a lap longer than I thought it would and I thought my heart might come out of my chest. :)
