Hey this week actually felt like a real training week. And though I didn’t get in skills practice for CX I did make sure to get in some sprinting practice, some tempo efforts, and a long hilly weekend ride. Commuting makes it tricky to attend group practices and early in the week I was feeling badly about missing evening CX practices, but I have decided I just have to go with my priorities and right now those are to save money and live a greener life so commuting is my first priority with CX practice second. Funny how just making a decision about things frees oneself up to stop worrying about it :) Almost managed to make this the first week I commuted everyday, but decided to work from home on Friday and broke the streak. This week’s CX race went MUCH better and I only crashed twice, felt much more in control, and actually had fun!
Monday-23ish miles commuting to and from work easy
Tuesday-24ish miles commuting to and from work with 6*30 second sprints and a 5 minute tempo
Wednesday-24ish miles commuting to and from work easy
Thursday-24ish miles commuting to and from work with 6*30 second sprints and a 5 minute hard effort
Friday-800 meter swim with 200 warm up, 8*25 on 30 send offs, 3*100 on 1:50 send offs, 100 cool down
Saturday-27 hilly miles to visit Salty at the market
Sunday-About 12 miles with my second CX race. Despite my contact falling out on the first loop and a couple of slow motion spills I managed to step it up this week and feel much stronger, a lot more straight sections and hills making this course more to my liking than last weeks windy technical mudfest. The boyfriend joined the fun and of course kicked my butt despite never being on a cyclocross bike before. :)

Cyclocross is bad-ass! I would love to do a race sometime! Very popular here in Boulder!
