23 weeks! I’ve backed off the mileage a bit on my short days. It’s been so hot and I’ve been tired so it seems like the right thing to do. It felt nice to end a couple of runs this week feeling like I could do more for a change. I think my Braxton-Hicks issues are definitely a dehydration thing since it seems to happen at the end of longer runs in the heat. I ran 12 today and it was raining and much cooler than it’s been while still being diligent about drinking. I had no issues. It’s crazy to think I can drink 48oz of water on a 95 minute run and still be dehydrated, but I think when it’s hot it’s totally possible.
Today my husband joined me on my long run! We watched the women’s olympic marathon this morning and then dropped the kids off at my moms before hitting a nice path by her house. The rain and the company made for a great run. I felt so good I finished with a sub-8:00 mile. Go me :)
Mon: 4.5 pushing the stroller in the heat. 3.5 miles with a new friend!
Tue: 5.5 pushing the stroller and running with a friend and her two older kids on bikes. Fun!
Wed: 10 on the bridle trails averaging around 9:20. Hot and slow and Braxton-Hicksy at the end.
Thu: slug day. No run, lots of Salty Running work and a long nap.
Fri: 5 with my friend Bridget at the National Park pushing the strollers.
Sat: 5 miles slow with no watch. Some day I’ll tell you the story of this one!
Sun: 12 miles averaging 8:41. Last mile blazing in 7:48!
