Still injured, still annoyed with it… Still having trouble staying away from my running addiction.
The one solace is work. I’m working here and there on this movie, but I’m not doing anything close to camera work…or anything that really requires much thought at all. Everyone on a movie set is an important and has her part to play of course, but it’s nonetheless frustrating when you know you could be happier and succeed better if only you were challenged more.
This weekend at work I’m lucky I can at least spend the time with my good friend LV. We’re making sure we balance being bored and on our feet all day with stretching a lot, wall-sits, leg lifts and all sorts of strengthening exercises. I might not be able to run, but I don’t have to sit still, either!
Sunday: I. Ran. Eleven. Miles. It was an accident, I swear. My running club was told there would be a six mile trail that wound up being eleven miles WITH a shortcut! I did take a few stop & walk breaks, but I ran almost the whole way even with my knee (thanks to my friend MT). It only hurt a little bit right at the end!
Monday: 4.5 miles through Brooklyn. SLOW. Walk breaks.
Tuesday: 7 mile walk/run to Manhattan to do some thinking.
Wednesday: Did a lot of strength training, had some good stretching. Went to my running club but helped with some organizational stuff instead of going on the run, which included a little 1 mile jog and then a nice walk back with my friend CF.
Thursday: I worked a short day, taking the day off from running stuff to give my knee a break. Well…not totally off! I did some SexyCore with the Oiselle gals and spent a half an hour on some yoga flow.
Friday: 4.5 mile walk through Brooklyn, plus more SexyCore (it’s addicting – if you’re on Twitter you can follow along with Oiselle every weekday) and a nice, long stretching sequence, which I couldn’t help but call StretchyCore.
Saturday & Sunday: I worked out on the street in the financial district for a big movie – does prancing around and talking to people count as working out? How about running from set to the trailers to get my rain gear? Well…I guess not. Both days I still managed to get in some wall-sits, modified push-ups, knee-raises…. and of course more stretches!
