I'm trying to become a faster runner and learning a lot about myself in the process! When I'm not running or blogging, I am a licensed professional counselor for children and families in their homes and communities.

This is what running in Akron, Ohio looks like. I love my neighborhood runs!

The week started off iffy and ended exciting. I took a full week off from running but kept active with swimming and a little bit of biking. On Thursday, I attempted an easy run at night and it wasn’t so bad. 8 hours later, I headed over to my ART appointment. I was looking forward to the pain this time because I knew that all the rest I gave my foot helped and so all that was left to do was get all that junk out of there! Doc suggested continuing to take it easy until my next appointment in two weeks. Incorporating swimming in between run days was also suggested. Last night, my run finally (and I mean it this time!) felt normal. As long as I don’t do anything stupid with intensity, I should be good to go! I’ll write about the elusive “I’m back” run this upcoming week!

Sunday: 50 minute leisure bike ride alongside James and friend on their run

Monday: 1600 meter swim with 15 minutes pool running

Tuesday: Off

Wednesday: 2000 meter swim with 5 x 100 meter pickups

Thursday: 3 miles easy on the golf course

Friday: 3 miles easy around the neighborhood

Saturday: 1750 yard swim

Totals: 6 miles running, 3.2 miles swimming, 50 minutes biking

I can't wait to start running on the roads of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park again!
