Trail and adventure enthusiast who started on the roads and won't give up my 5:30 am road runs with my neighborhood posse, including my husband. Girl who swears like a sailor but not when she's teaching Sunday School. Self-employed, primarily working for Clif Bar and Company. Eight 100 mile race finishes with five top 3 placements.

My Sunday morning long run minus the fog - the Big Sur Marathon course.

Training for the Vermont 100 officially kicked off this week, in spite of my lack of motivation.  I got home from the Big Sur Marathon to wicked warm temperatures, which definitely kept things interesting my first week out; got a mild sunburn on Wednesday even with sunscreen on.  I’m starting a four week build (80/90/100/100), followed by a 50 mile rest week that I’m already excited for.  In other news, I lost one of those two big toenails that have been torturing me on downhills.  80 miles flat for the week.

Saturday:  4 mile shakeout run with the team

Sunday:  26.2 miles, pacing the Big Sur Marathon

Monday:  Two back to back spin classes

Tuesday:  13 neighborhood/bike path miles, core/Pilates class

Wednesday:  21 relaxed but hilly road miles, single spin class

Success! The first of nine midweek 21 mile runs complete. Note snacks and drinks on car trunk - this isn't my first rodeo.

Thursday:  8 neighborhood miles with my morning run group, single spin class

Friday:  8 early morning neighborhood miles

In honor of this week's Friday 5 ... look who I found in a seaside candy store!

That’s not the photo you showed me! I’m tired just reading about all the miles and spinning! I can’t run 21 miles in a week right now!
